Do Matter devices work with every smart home app?
No. Check that your controller supports the device type and the specific features you need. Firmware, region and platform support can affect the result. See the compatibility checklist.
Is Thread the same as Matter?
No. Thread provides an IP-based mesh network. Matter defines an application-layer language. Matter can also use Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
Do I still need a hub?
It depends on the device. Matter-over-Thread needs a Matter controller and Thread border router. Zigbee and Z-Wave generally need compatible controllers. One product may combine several roles.
Will my home work without the internet?
Some local controls and routines may continue. Cloud services, remote access and some voice functions may stop. Test the specific actions in your own setup.
Can I use a smart bulb with my existing dimmer?
Only if the manufacturers explicitly support that combination. Many smart bulbs require an undimmed supply and should not be connected to a conventional dimmer. Read the lighting guide before changing controls.
Will a connected thermostat fit my heating system?
Not necessarily. Confirm wiring, control voltage, heating-system type and regional requirements. Communication compatibility does not establish electrical compatibility.
Does every smart plug measure energy?

Is voice recognition enough to secure a lock?
Do not treat voice recognition alone as conclusive identity verification. Follow the lock and platform security requirements and retain an approved independent access method.
Why did my routine stop after an update?
Permissions, entity names, firmware behaviour or integration support may have changed. Inspect event history, test each component and change one variable at a time.
